Throw a Party!
Everyone loves a reason to celebrate
Invite your neighbors, friends, family, community — everyone you can think of and offer refreshments and entertainment or services like chair massages. Offer discounts or incentives on items bought or services scheduled during this time.
There are a million and one reasons to have a party. Here are a few ideas:
1. Season changes. Almost every boutique business changes its stock with the seasons. Make it something special and put out appropriate "signature" drinks and snacks. Decorate with style.
2. Host an artist or author whose products you sell for a signing or meet and greet.
3. Launch a new product line. You put a lot of time and effort into choosing what lines you will carry in your shop. You should celebrate that with your customers.
4. Block party. Get together with your business neighbors to celebrate a new shop opening in your area. Welcome them into the mix and boost your business at the same time.
5. Host an art show for local artists in your cafe, boutique or flower shop. Offer wine and cheese.
6. Any major holiday. Or any small, obscure holiday, for that matter. Just get people to come by and show them a good time.
