Package with Panache
If it has worked for Tiffany's all these years...

Everyone recognizes those little blue-green boxes with the simple white bow and a tiny thrill runs through to the bone. Find a unique way to let your customers know they are getting something special everytime they make a purchase.

You don't have to spend alot if you just get creative. Here are a few tips:

1. Keep it simple.

2. Make sure your logo or website are somewhere on it.

3. Be sure it fits your products and company style.

4. Get inspired by others, but make it your own.

Packaging isn't just the bags or box you put your sold items into. It is the ENTIRE experience, from the outside of your shop through every detail on the inside and right on through to your website and ads. Brand your name and the experience you offer into everything. Use a certain set of colors and create your own style. Paint the walls a color that will coordinate with your logo.

A good exercise you can do to see if you have a "brand" is to gather one or two of everything: stationery, postcards, brochures, signs, printouts of your website, business cards, ads from the last 6 months, photos of the outside of your store, nametags, menus, etc. Once gathered, spread it out on the floor or on a table in the middle of your shop. Next, stare at it all, including your surroundings, and ask yourself if it conveys who you are and what experience you are hoping to create. If it is a cohesive, united front — great! If not — no sweat. Just spend a little more time picking out the pieces that succeed and think of ways you can get that feeling across to the rest.
